On Saturday, June 19 2010, this middle-aged mom is going to row 100km – live on stage at West Edmonton Mall, the biggest mall in North America!
I just need to complete a few logistics to sign the deal and we're on our way! This turned out unbelievably better than I had hoped – I was expecting to get a small spot in a quiet area of the mall (if there is such a place) but the event coordinator suggested we use the Newcap stage, which is often used for bands and shows. This gives us the capability to play music – does anyone know a DJ who would like to spin some tunes for a good cause?
Now that we have a date and a venue, things are really going to roll. The list of things to do should keep me too busy to think about stage fright. Apparently the mall receives between 60,000 and 150,000 shoppers daily, depending on the season. Gulp.
