I Go 100

Have you ever felt driven to make a difference in this world? Do you think it's difficult or impossible in your current situation? You don't have to be a doctor or an emergency relief worker to make a difference in people's lives. And you don't need to be famous or in a position of power to influence change. You can make a difference. This website is about gathering a tribe of people who want to give something wonderful to the world. To leave this place better because we were here. Think of this:

I (Michelle Toy) am going to do something a little crazy. It's going to be hard – maybe the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm going to row 100 Km on an indoor rowing machine as fast as I can in one day. This event will take place on June 19 2010. I'm estimating it will take about 10 or 11 hours to complete.

If I take on this challenge, would you feel inspired to join me and help build a school in Mozambique? It is actually pretty easy to make this happen. We just need to raise the money and the rest is taken care of by Plan Canada: More About Plan Canada

So I go 100. And we build a school and make a difference to hundreds of children.

What do you think? I believe we can make a difference – together. You know, you and I are only present in this world for a brief period of time. Even if we live to be 110 years old, we are still only temporary beings on this earth. Life, as we know it, is pretty short. Our influence and our presence here is brief.

We can, however, make a decision that will last for generations. Building a school will help improve the lives of impoverished children now, as well as the lives of their children, their grandchildren, and for generations after that. How many people will benefit from this one thing in the years ahead? Hundreds? Thousands?

Wow. What a legacy. What an impact! You and I could change the course of history in a community by this decision!
